Maker arnegiacomo has built Fugleramme, an open-source gadget that identifies backyard birdsong locally and displays 19th-century botanical engravings on a large E-Ink screen. It cuts out monthly subscriptions, microphones feeding the cloud, and blinding screens in favor of calm, private hardware.
