Flowtica Verso gives your phone a second screen — but charges $299 for focus

The Flowtica Verso attaches a magnetic e-paper screen and microphone array to the back of your smartphone to handle notes and summaries without unlocking the main display. At $299, it attempts to cure phone addiction by adding more hardware.

Your phone screen demands non-stop attention every time you unlock it just to scribble down a fleeting thought or check an appointment. The Flowtica Verso attempts to break that cycle by mounting a secondary, card-sized e-paper screen directly to the back of a handset. Instead of pulling you into an endless feed of notifications, the panel passively records, transcribes, and summarizes spoken conversations without requiring an unlocked phone.

Measuring barely 6.5 millimeters thick, this magnetic add-on fits onto MagSafe-compatible phones while packing a full touchscreen, a five-microphone array, and a battery rated for up to 72 hours between charges.

"The Flowtica Verso pushes back on that habit by giving your phone a second face, a card-sized panel with its own always-on e-paper screen."

Because electronic paper holds an image without constant power draw and remains fully legible under direct sunlight, you get a persistent dashboard for to-do lists, daily schedules, and live meeting summaries without draining your primary phone's battery.

Turning the back of a smartphone into a secondary workstation is not a new idea, but Flowtica's pricing puts it in a tough spot. The Verso is priced at $299, stepping far beyond impulse-buy accessory territory. In comparison, Xteink sells its basic magnetic X4 Classic reader for $79, charges $99 for the front-lit X4 Pro, and BOOX prices its standalone pocket touchscreen reader, the Picco, around $100. Flowtica argues that while basic e-readers only show static pages, the Verso earns its premium by listening to live discussions and serving up answers at the press of a button.

Paying $299 to stick a microphone array and an e-paper panel on your phone to escape distractions is certainly an ambitious pitch. Solving phone addiction by buying a second screen to attach to the first is logic at its finest.
