Can an $8,000 Samsung OLED built into Danish furniture replace your AV receiver?

Samsung has teamed up with Danish acoustic brand Canvas to embed its flagship OLED panel inside custom wooden cabinetry with up to 1,500 watts of power. Starting at $7,999 when it arrives in October 2026, the setup eliminates messy AV receivers for design-conscious buyers who want big sound without rear speakers.

If you want reference-grade OLED picture quality without turning your living room into a snake pit of copper wire and bulky AV receivers, Samsung has an expensive fix. The Korean giant teamed up with Danish audiophile outfit Canvas to build the Samsung HiFi S99H OLED TV. The collaboration wraps Samsung's flagship S95H/S99H panel in custom Scandinavian acoustic cabinetry, effectively masking the brand's awkward FloatLayer chassis and turning a massive screen into a monolithic furniture piece.

Prices start at $7,999 (around £5,905 or AU$11,165). That sounds like a steep pill until you calculate the cost, clutter, and labor of buying a standalone flagship display alongside boutique amplification and high-end room-correction gear.

"The ambition is to create a new category in which true HiFi, picture quality and furniture design are developed as one integrated solution"

As Canvas and Samsung frame it, this is a clean architectural install out of the box. The all-in-one chassis ships with a fixed floor stand or flush wall mount as standard, plus an optional rotating floor stand in anodized aluminum or matte black.

Serious Watts Without Surround Channels

The acoustic hardware tucked underneath the glass discards anemic built-in TV tweeters entirely. Buyers can configure the S99H with either a 1,000W or 1,500W Class D amplification module, with the step-up Canvas L variant delivering the higher output ceiling. That is legitimate, chest-thumping power designed to eliminate the need for dedicated floorstanding towers or a separate subwoofer box.

Purists might scoff at the lack of physical rear satellites, but Canvas takes a deliberate stereo-first stance. The system runs BACCH 3D spatial audio filters rather than true multichannel surround, relying on advanced crosstalk cancellation to project a wide soundstage purely from the front baffle.

Availability and the Price Equation

This setup clearly targets luxury interior projects over mainstream living rooms. The Samsung HiFi S99H makes its official bow at IFA 2026 in Berlin on September 4, 2026, across 55-inch, 65-inch, 77-inch, and 83-inch cuts.

Showroom inventory lands in selected Canvas boutique spaces starting October 2026, with the 1,500W Canvas L version following later in the quarter. At $7,999, you are paying a hefty premium over a standalone OLED, but for design-conscious buyers who value acoustic muscle without an AV rack cluttering the floor, the math checks out.
