Can a dual-drum compact washer finally end laundry day bottlenecks?

The eternal domestic dilemma—saving up white shirts for a week or running a half-empty drum—finally has a practical hardware solution. Xiaomi has introduced the Mijia Mini Twin-Tub Washer-Dryer, fitting two completely independent drums into a single compact chassis. No compromises or waiting turns: baby clothes can wash in one compartment while adult garments or colored fabrics spin in the other simultaneously, with zero risk of color bleeding.

The everyday math is straightforward: each drum holds up to 2.5 kg, offering a combined 5 kg capacity, while the built-in dryer handles up to 3 kg of laundry. The engineers deliberately kept the chassis lower than standard machines, allowing it to slide easily beneath low countertops in compact bathrooms. Hardware specifications avoid unnecessary marketing fluff: a solid 1,200 RPM spin cycle, dual isolated 150 ml automatic detergent dispensers that meter soap on demand, and 34 pre-programmed washing profiles tailored for various fabric types and stains.

At a launch price of 2,499 yuan (around $350), it is a remarkably pragmatic home appliance. Paying a premium just for the brand makes little sense, but for anyone tired of sorting clothes into piles and stretching laundry day across three separate cycles, the dual-drum setup proves its worth from week one.
