It sounds like a parody of wilderness survival shows, but that is exactly what Oukitel brought to IFA in Berlin, unveiling three rugged handsets: the WP600, WP70 Ultra, and WP63.
Chinese brands have long competed to cram an entire hardware store into a single chassis. However, this latest lineup finally crosses the line between heavy-duty job-site phones and outright experiments defying common sense.
A lighter packed next to a giant battery
The Oukitel WP63 looks like the riskiest device of the trio. Its headline feature is a built-in electric igniter with an exposed heating coil designed to start campfires. Directly beneath that heating element sits a massive 20,000 mAh battery with 33W wired charging and 18W reverse power delivery for external devices.

Alongside the exposed coil, engineers embedded a powerful camping lantern and a loudspeaker for distress signals. Carrying an open heat source paired with 20,000 mAh of lithium in your pocket requires nerves of steel and solid insurance. For a solo trek into deep wilderness, such a multi-tool might pass as an emergency backup, but for an ordinary city dweller, this half-kilogram brick offers nothing beyond severely sagging pockets.
Armored cooling fans and a silicon battery
The second experiment is the Oukitel WP600 rugged gaming phone. Inside a sealed chassis with aggressive black-and-yellow accents and RGB lighting, the manufacturer managed to fit two active cooling fans. It still claims IP68, IP69K, and MIL-STD-810H durability certifications. Processing power comes from a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 chip, up to 24 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage. It features a 6.8-inch 120Hz Full HD+ display, a 108 MP main camera, and a 10,000 mAh battery with a 45W wall adapter.
The flagship Oukitel WP70 Ultra attempts to solve the main pain point of rugged bricks: monstrous thickness. It uses a 16,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery, a chemistry that enables a thinner, lighter profile without sacrificing capacity. The phone features a 6.78-inch 120Hz OLED screen, a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7200 processor, 66W fast charging, and Android 16. Its camera setup includes a 108 MP primary sensor, a 64 MP night-vision camera, and a dedicated thermal imaging module.
At the end of the day, only the WP70 Ultra offers real-world utility—its silicon-carbon anode makes an enormous battery actually manageable to hold on a shift or an expedition. The other two models demand a dubious trade-off: enduring a heavy block of plastic and metal for the sake of dust-prone fans or the risk of burning a hole in your jacket.
