1300 Dollar Smart Mattress Adds Motors And Rapid Heating To Your Bed

A new crowdfunded smart mattress brings independent zone adjustments and motorized posture correction to the bedroom for 1300 dollars. But paying for built-in climate control and moving parts makes little sense compared to a standard orthopedic base.

Attempts to digitize the most mundane habits have finally reached the bedroom. Crowdfunding has started on JD.com for the Jingzao X JoyInside AI Smart Mattress, priced from 9,699 yuan with subsidies — roughly $1300. The manufacturer promises a ten-year motor warranty, as if you are buying a used crossover rather than a bed.

Anatomy controlled by sensors

Inside the structure, engineers packed AutoFit technology: an array of 20 sensors feeds data into a system with 10 adjustment zones. Continuous monitoring is handled by a dual-mode piezoelectric sensor with six reading layers and 80,000 measurement points, and the claimed response time is just one millisecond.

The mattress tries to fix your sleeping posture without your involvement, with the left and right sides adjusting independently of each other. All this mechanics allows raising the headrest to an angle of up to 60 degrees, the leg section up to 40, and lifting the lower back by 10 centimeters.

Fast heating and real utility

Aside from physical posture adjustment, the mattress features built-in full climate control.

The climate control system can raise the temperature at a rate of 2 °C per second.

This figure looks great in an advertising brochure, but in practice, we are looking at an unreasonably expensive way to warm up a sheet without a long wait. Unless you need continuous motorized body tilting in the middle of the night, paying nearly 10,000 yuan for a complex gadget with motors instead of a classic orthopedic base makes zero practical sense. For those suffering from insomnia or morning fatigue, it is much cheaper and more effective to open a window first rather than trust your spine to crowdfunding experiments.
