Slim Build: TECNO squeezes a 6,000mAh battery into a 6.39mm phone

TECNO unveiled the CAMON Slim 5G at IFA 2026, pairing a razor-thin 6.39mm profile with a heavy-duty 6,000mAh battery. It swaps fragile rear glass for a rugged fiberglass composite to solve the eternal trade-off between ultra-thin design and multi-day endurance.

Ultra-thin phones usually force an annoying compromise: you get a featherweight device that dies by mid-afternoon. TECNO unveiled the CAMON Slim 5G at IFA 2026 to attack that exact headache. By leveraging high-density silicon-carbon battery chemistry, the device measures a razor-thin 6.39mm while cramming in a massive 6,000mAh capacity without turning into a fragile glass wafer.

To put that in perspective, holding a 6.39mm frame feels like gripping a slim notepad, yet 6,000mAh delivers the multi-day endurance normally reserved for thick, heavy bricks. To prevent flex and catastrophic drops, TECNO ditched standard rear glass for rugged fiberglass composite, backed by military-grade drop certifications and curved ergonomics designed to sit comfortably in the palm.

Practical Hardware and Quirky Extras

Under the hood, daily performance relies on a MediaTek Dimensity 7300e chip with 5 years of security patches. But ultra-compact packaging always extracts a toll: dissipating heat under sustained 5G workloads and heavy gaming remains the primary physical hurdle in a chassis this tightly packed, and third-party repairability is bound to be tricky.

Beyond quirky finishes like the UV-reactive rear panel, the setup includes an IP69K rating for extreme water resistance, wet-touch tracking, and a 50MP Sony LYTIA 700C sensor. TECNO also introduced the Mag Badge, a magnetic accessory with an integrated battery and 1.73-inch AMOLED screen serving as a remote camera trigger up to 10 meters away.

What This Means at Retail

Pricing and regional launch dates will roll out in the coming months. If TECNO prices the handset competitively against mid-range rivals, the CAMON Slim 5G offers everyday buyers a compelling alternative to bulky slabs—provided you prioritize sleek ergonomics and battery longevity over heavy sustained gaming performance.
